Viberti has been around since the early 1900's, thanks to Antonio Viberti who acquired an inn and adjoining farm in the Vergne district of Barolo. They started making wine to simply serve in their trattoria. Over the decades, their wine making practices expanded and has since become a global phenomenon. The estate is now run by Claudio, the third generation since its opening.
This gorgeous 2017 Buon Padre is the balanced blend of Nebbiolo grapes sourced from 5 vineyards across the Barolo village. Having spent 40 months in wooden casks, this wine is made without filtration. A light ruby red colour, and aromas of spices, game, dried fruits and wild flowers tease the nose. On the palate, red fruits such as cherry and strawberry delight the senses, as well as notes of earth, leather, vanilla and oak.
