CRFT Wines is the South Australian dream of 6th generation Barossan Candice Helbig and New Zealander Frewin Ries. CRFT's philosophy is to produce single vineyard wines with a focus on locality. Theia, the new sister label under CRFT, is made with a strict no-intervention approach from organically grown estate-owned fruit.
This is quite the unique wine. A skinsy chilled white wine, made from a blend of 50% Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Pinot Noir grapes were pressed and fermented like a white wine, then blended with the Chardonnay fermented on skins. With 6 months in used French oak, it is unfined and unfiltered.
With a beautiful pale coppery-straw hue, it is refreshing yet textural, carrying a saline-y and mineral-y style. Flavours of blossom and lemon & lime. Tight and linear, its got body yet is crisp, with a touch of tannin on the finish.
