Six Acres Riesling 2012
Ralph Zuccaro and son Aaron, who is also a winemaker at Giant Steps, tend their family vineyard at the southern tip of the Yarra Valley, in Silvin, on the east side of the reservoir.
The vineyards are north facing and are planted on slopes about 250 metres above sea level on rich volcanic soil. The combination of climate and aspect allow the grapes a longer ripening period which results in subtle, elegant, wines.
The vineyard is planted to Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Riesling is sourced from Long Gully Estate, a neighbour to Tarra Warra Estate. Chardonnay is sourced from Killara Estate, a neighbour to Seville Estate.
The wines have been labelled under the Zuccaro’s Six Acres label for more than 10 vintages.
