Sigurd is a label started by Daniel Graham. The name Sigurd is a tribute to his great grandfather and his Norwegian heritage, who Daniel only ever met once as a 2 year old. What started as a side project and one barrel in 2012 has become many more barrels today and no longer just a side business.
"Grenache (55%), Carignan (14%), Muscat (10%), Sauvignon Blanc (10%), Pinot Gris (10%). All sourced from around the southern part of the Barossa, the fruit is picked early for the Rose. All varieties are fermented separately and pressed straight away except for the Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris which are fermented together on skins for 10 days then pressed into old French puncheons and a 100 yr old oak Foudre (1600L). Elevage is until early December which it is racked cleanly off lees. A small amount of sulfur was added before bottling." - Sigurd
