Quinta do Ameal Loureiro 2013

Regular price $30.00

Loureiro, pronounced L-uu-r-EH-r-oh, is a light-skinned variety grown mainly in the north of Portugal. Loureiro comes from the word Laurel in reference to the bay-leaf scent which marks Loureiro's distinctive aroma.

Quinta do Ameal Loureiro has a richly fragrant bay-leaf and lemon character.

The Ameal vineyards are referred to in the annals of the Refóios do Lima convent around 1710. The ancient Quinta do Ameal is situated in one of the oldest parishes in Portugal, established even before the country (1143).

Devoted to the development of the native Loureiro grape variety the modern Quinta do Ameal produces wines in this sub-region of Lima, where the Loureiro grape variety is at its most aromatic and tasty. The wines are characterised by their freshness and youth, and possess a floral and fruity aroma.
