Nashwauk took its name from a ship, the Nashwauk, which was wrecked off the nearby coast in 1855, not far from the Nashwauk vineyard today. The vineyard is located on the Fleurieu Peninsula, and by the township of McLaren Vale.
The Shiraz is a little pocket rocket. It is a fuller-bodied style (but not ultra-robust) - certainly rich fruit flavours and decent length. It delights the nose with aromas of black cherry, blueberry and red currant. And on the palate, we have generous dark fruits, mocha and dark chocolate, with fine tannins for added complexity and texture.
