The Heidenreich name dates back to 1866 in the Barossa, when Georg Heidenreich, a Lutheran Minister from Hamburg, Germany was sent to the region 150 years ago. The first family vineyard was then planted 2 generations later in 1936, by Rufus Heidenreich. The Heidenreich family continues to manage these vineyards with winemaking now in the hands of Liz Heidenreich who produces red wines from old vines in the Barossa, while also sourcing grapes from Clare Valley to make Riesling.
This Riesling, made from grapes from Watervale, Clare Valley - is one heck of a winner. With teasing aromas of lime & salt, the flavours are vivid in the mouth, celebrating notes of lemon, lime and green apple sorbet.
