Landron Domaine De La Louvetrie 2014

Regular price $26.00
Landron's Louvetrie cuvée originates from soils rich in amphibolite but also sand, clay and gneiss. It remains the Estate's only wine made from a blend of different sites, although it is still a blinder of a wine, packed full of juicy fruit and vibrant minerality. Jo bottles this cuvée twice a year and this is the second bottling, so it's had longer on lees. As always, this is Muscadet's answer to Pfalz Riesling with zesty, pithy, kaffir lime fruit and complex, roasted nut and wet stone notes. Fantastically vibrant and sherbetty across the palate, with a finish that is so savoury and stony. An absolute winner. 2013 was a fantastic year for quality in Muscadet and it shows here. Of course it helps that the wine was born from very low yields (32-35 hl/ha). Racy, fresh and damn delicious.
