Bachelet Monot Bourgogne Blanc 2013
The Bachelet boys own 1.3-hectare of Bourgogne blanc in Puligny (10 metres from the edge of the AOC).
The vines are 20-50 years old and this wine is raised for 12 months in a mixture of old and a little new oak (roughly 15 per cent) before being transferred to tank for six months to freshen up.
Similar to last year, this is brilliant quality for the level. Lots of rolling, pulpy, citrus fruit shot through with bright, highly charged, chalky minerality, and then refreshingly pithy, zesty notes on the finish.
